Price for Crustacean Preparations; Shrimps and Prawns, Prepared or Preserved, Not in Airtight Containers in Ukraine (CIF) - 2023

In December 2023, the average import price for crustacean preparations; shrimps and prawns, prepared or preserved, not in airtight containerses amounted to $7,345 per ton, rising by 4% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 12% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $8,199 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($10,263 per ton), while the price for India ($6,102 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for crustacean preparations; shrimps and prawns, prepared or preserved, not in airtight containerses stood at $15,107 per ton in 2022, picking up by 214% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a deep reduction. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $46,691 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Georgia.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Georgia amounted to -10.1% per year.

Overall, imports recorded a noticeable contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 40%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 740 tons, and then declined sharply in the following year.
