The average export price for coal; bituminous, whether or not pulverised, but not agglomerateds stood at $39 per ton in 2022, surging by 24% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $171 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($166 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kyrgyzstan ($14 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -15.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 107% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $392M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.
