In 2022, the average cereals; maize (corn), seed import price amounted to $3,694 per ton, shrinking by -1.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average import price increased by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $3,991 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 38%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $3.1M, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
