The average export price for cereal groats; meal and pelletses stood at $361 per ton in July 2023, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. In general, the export price saw a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 8.6% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $441 per ton. From February 2023 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Angola ($419 per ton) and Zimbabwe ($393 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($322 per ton) and Congo ($349 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cameroon (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average import price for cereal groats; meal and pelletses stood at $369 per ton in July 2023, declining by -16.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 26% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $573 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($928 per ton), while the price for Lesotho ($192 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
