The average import price for candies, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery stood at $3,335 per ton in July 2023, surging by 7.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 20% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,640 per ton. From May 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Mexico ($4,840 per ton), while the price for Colombia ($1,927 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for candies, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery stood at $3,841 per ton in July 2023, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 43% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $3,865 per ton in June 2023, and then reduced modestly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Peru ($6,160 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ecuador ($3,550 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Peru (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Candy, Sweets, and Nonchocolate Confectionery in Chile
Candy, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery imports into Chile rose remarkably to 27K tons in 2022, growing by 5.8% compared with 2021.
