The average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $788 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 4.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 70%. The import price peaked at $1,683 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($2,780 per ton), while the price for Denmark ($144 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+16.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price saw prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 135% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($5,500 per ton), while the average price for exports to Burkina Faso ($111 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+18.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
