In October 2023, the average export price for butter and other fats and oils derived from milk amounted to $5,391 per ton, with an increase of 6.3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $5,650 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to October 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In October 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Poland ($6,501 per ton) and Azerbaijan ($5,746 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($4,500 per ton) and Moldova ($5,345 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average import price for butter and other fats and oils derived from milk amounted to $5,856 per ton, falling by -2.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 when the average import price increased by 29% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $9,289 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to October 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Germany ($7,694 per ton) and France ($6,129 per ton), while the price for Poland ($5,246 per ton) and Estonia ($5,439 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (-1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
