The average export price for buckwheat, millet and canary seed; other cerealses stood at $1,949 per ton in 2022, waning by -4.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 45% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $5,503 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were the United States ($2,219 per ton) and France ($1,914 per ton), while the average price for exports to Argentina ($1,514 per ton) and Chile ($1,571 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chile (-2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for buckwheat, millet and canary seed; other cerealses increased by +98.2% against 2017 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
