The average import price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander stood at $2,319 per ton in 2022, picking up by 7.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price posted a noticeable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average import price increased by 70%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $2,587 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($4,028 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($548 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($5,329 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($823 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
