In May 2023, the average import price for alkali or alkali-earth metals; calcia amounted to $5,201 per ton, dropping by -4.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 35% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $8,467 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to May 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The average export price for alkali or alkali-earth metals; calcia stood at $4,402 per ton in 2022, picking up by 71% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, alkali or alkali-earth metals; calcium export price increased by +74.6% against 2020 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($8,243 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($900 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+13.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
