The average import price for alkali or alkali-earth metals; calcia stood at $2,786 per ton in 2022, falling by -3.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate slight growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 260%. The import price peaked at $29,067 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($22,889 per ton), while the price for Germany amounted to $2,297 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+33.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, overseas purchases of alkali or alkali-earth metals; calcia decreased by -74.8% to 379 kg for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 705% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.5 tons, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
In value terms, alkali or alkali-earth metals; calcium imports declined dramatically to $1.1K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 212%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $4.3K, and then declined markedly in the following year.
