Preserved Tomato Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
The average preserved tomato import price stood at $1,783 per ton in September 2022, shrinking by -13.5% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated notable growth from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, preserved tomato import price decreased by -13.5% against August 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 44% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,061 per ton in August 2022, and then shrank in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was the United States ($3,103 per ton), while the price for Italy ($1,285 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average preserved tomato export price stood at $2,393 per ton in 2022, growing by 65% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, preserved tomato export price increased by +93.6% against 2018 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cambodia ($2,081 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($950 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
