Preserved Sauerkraut Price in Belarus (FOB) - 2022

The average preserved sauerkraut export price stood at $790 per ton in March 2022, declining by -17.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2022 when the average export price increased by 182% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,808 per ton. From February 2022 to March 2022, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to +0.3% per month.

Preserved Sauerkraut Price in Belarus (CIF) - 2022

The average preserved sauerkraut import price stood at $857 per ton in 2022, declining by -5.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 66%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,423 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Armenia ($1,766 per ton), while the price for Moldova ($204 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (-1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Preserved Sauerkraut Exports in Belarus

In 2022, overseas shipments of preserved sauerkraut were finally on the rise to reach 13K tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a noticeable decrease.

In value terms, preserved sauerkraut exports rose significantly to $13M in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 27%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 4.4K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
