Poultry Price in Kuwait (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average poultry import price amounted to $1,932 per ton, which is down by -2.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 10% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,069 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($4,032 per ton), while the price for the United States ($899 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Poultry Price in Kuwait (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average poultry export price amounted to $2,346 per ton, leveling off at the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a slight curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 28% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,555 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($3,159 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($1,253 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Liberia (+8.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Poultry Imports in Kuwait
In 2022, overseas purchases of poultry were finally on the rise to reach 142K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, saw a perceptible curtailment.
In value terms, poultry imports dropped slightly to $275M in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 3.6%.

Poultry Exports in Kuwait
Poultry exports from Kuwait surged to 4.1K tons in 2022, jumping by 40% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, exports showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 425% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 5.4K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, poultry exports soared to $9.7M in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 325% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $12M.
