Plum and Sloe Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
The average plum and sloe import price stood at $1,925 per ton in June 2023, waning by -20% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, posted a perceptible expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 60% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $2,406 per ton in May 2023, and then fell notably in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the countries with the highest prices were the Netherlands ($2,298 per ton) and Germany ($2,129 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($1,635 per ton) and Spain ($1,958 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plum and Sloe Price in Poland (FOB) - 2022
The average plum and sloe export price stood at $708 per ton in 2022, declining by -26.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a perceptible decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 102% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,094 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($1,229 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($435 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plum and Sloe Imports in Poland
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of plums and sloes decreased by -29.6% to 16K tons in 2022. In general, imports recorded a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 13%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 23K tons, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, plum and sloe imports fell notably to $18M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 24%.

Plum and Sloe Exports in Poland
In 2022, exports of plums and sloes from Poland soared to 12K tons, with an increase of 57% compared with the previous year. In general, total exports indicated significant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +22.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +85.6% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
