Pistachio Price in Belgium (CIF) - 2023
The average pistachio import price stood at $10,420 per ton in August 2023, surging by 9.9% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 31% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $11,247 per ton. From February 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Iran ($23,905 per ton), while the price for Italy ($8,021 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pistachio Price in Belgium (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average pistachio export price amounted to $9,460 per ton, surging by 6.8% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 6.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure in August 2023.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Italy ($11,214 per ton) and Spain ($9,773 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($8,246 per ton) and Romania ($8,411 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pistachio Imports in Belgium
Pistachio imports into Belgium surged to 25K tons in 2022, jumping by 83% compared with 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 158%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
