Orange Price in Peru (FOB) - 2022
The average orange export price stood at $399 per ton in 2022, rising by 5.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 6.3%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $553 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($838 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($287 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Dominican Republic (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Orange Price in Peru (CIF) - 2021
In April 2020, the average orange import price amounted to $1,334 per ton, picking up by 3.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a mild decrease. The import price peaked at $1,440 per ton in February 2020; however, from March 2020 to April 2020, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.
From January 2020 to April 2020, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United States amounted to -1.9% per month.
Orange Exports in Peru
In 2022, overseas shipments of oranges decreased by -58% to 10K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports saw a precipitous decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 37% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 29K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, orange exports dropped significantly to $4.1M in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a dramatic slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 46%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $12M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Orange Imports in Peru
In 2022, orange imports into Peru shrank markedly to 2K tons, which is down by -39.2% against the previous year. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 25%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 3.4K tons, and then declined significantly in the following year.
In value terms, orange imports reduced to $3.6M in 2022.
