Orange Price in Norway (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average orange import price amounted to $1,252 per ton, declining by -4.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 10% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,413 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($4,251 per ton), while the price for Argentina ($791 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Orange Price in Norway (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average orange export price amounted to $842 per ton, falling by -22.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 29% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $1,085 per ton in 2021, and then declined significantly in the following year.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Sweden.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to +22.6% per year.
Orange Imports in Norway
Orange imports into Norway amounted to 33K tons in 2022, almost unchanged from 2021 figures. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 8.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, orange imports declined to $36M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Orange Exports in Norway
