Orange Price in Colombia (FOB) - 2022
In February 2022, the average orange export price amounted to $663 per ton, growing by 15% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a perceptible expansion from February 2021 to February 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.6% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on February 2022 figures, orange export price increased by +16.1% against December 2021 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2021 when the average export price increased by 24% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $790 per ton in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to February 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In February 2022, the country with the highest price was Curacao ($872 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ecuador ($455 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Curacao (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Orange Price in Colombia (CIF) - 2022
The average orange import price stood at $1,252 per ton in February 2022, dropping by -2.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2021 when the average import price increased by 326% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,452 per ton in November 2021; however, from December 2021 to February 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($2,677 per ton), while the price for Spain ($1,233 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ecuador (+28.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Orange Exports in Colombia
In 2022, overseas shipments of oranges decreased by -40.4% to 10K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, exports showed a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 72% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 25K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, orange exports dropped remarkably to $7.6M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -32.3% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 80% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $11M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Orange Imports in Colombia
