Olive Price in Latvia (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average olive import price amounted to $2,457 per ton, with a decrease of -22.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 211% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $5,098 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Estonia ($16,558 per ton), while the price for Spain ($2,204 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+50.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average olive export price amounted to $2,953 per ton, flattening at the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate slight growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 51%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,038 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($2,991 per ton), while the average price for exports to Estonia totaled $2,837 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Estonia (+1.5%).
Olive Imports in Latvia
In 2022, purchases abroad of olives decreased by -37% to 68 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports showed a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 115 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, olive imports fell remarkably to $168K in 2022. Overall, imports saw a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 45%.

In 2022, overseas shipments of olives decreased by -89.9% to 728 kg, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports showed a sharp shrinkage.
