Olive Price in Canada (CIF) - 2023
The average olive import price stood at $3,677 per ton in October 2023, reducing by -11.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, enjoyed prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 when the average import price increased by 98% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,169 per ton, and then dropped in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($4,117 per ton), while the price for Algeria ($1,209 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+10.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Olive Price in Canada (FOB) - 2022
The average olive export price stood at $1,687 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -69.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, enjoyed notable growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 78% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $5,531 per ton in 2021, and then fell sharply in the following year.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Greece.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Greece amounted to +6.4% per year.
Olive Imports in Canada
