Nucleic Acids Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2023

In June 2023, the average nucleic acids export price amounted to $33,011 per ton, with a decrease of -21.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 37% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $54,138 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($72,238 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($3,839 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+12.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average nucleic acids import price amounted to $22,540 per ton, waning by -17.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $42,580 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($141,767 per ton), while the price for the UK ($5,206 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Nucleic Acids Exports in the Netherlands

In 2022, shipments abroad of nucleic acids and their salts decreased by -27.8% to 11K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, exports, however, saw a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 152%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 19K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, nucleic acids exports declined sharply to $337M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 240%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $660M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
