Nucleic Acids Price in South Africa (CIF) - 2023

The average nucleic acids import price stood at $23,959 per ton in July 2023, with an increase of 13% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 55% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $46,092 per ton. From November 2022 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was India ($189K per ton), while the price for Thailand ($10,712 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Nucleic Acids Price in South Africa (FOB) - 2022

The average nucleic acids export price stood at $23,994 per ton in 2022, falling by -31.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 86% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $34,924 per ton in 2021, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($61,101 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($734 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+19.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Nucleic Acids Imports in South Africa

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of nucleic acids and their salts, when their volume decreased by -32% to 2.4K tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 23%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 3.6K tons, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
