The average nucleic acids import price stood at $33,588 per ton in 2022, stabilizing at the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a noticeable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by 184%. The import price peaked at $162,868 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($144,789 per ton), while the price for Malta ($5,660 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+28.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate resilient growth. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($211,635 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($5,290 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+44.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Nucleic Acids Imports in Poland

In 2022, supplies from abroad of nucleic acids and their salts decreased by -3.9% to 3.9K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 15%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 4.1K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, nucleic acids exports reduced modestly to $14M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a perceptible reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 9.8% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $17M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
