Nonwoven Fabric Price in Greece (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average nonwoven fabric import price amounted to $3,297 per ton, almost unchanged from the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 9.8% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $3,640 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($5,634 per ton), while the price for India ($2,463 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Nonwoven Fabric Price in Greece (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average nonwoven fabric export price amounted to $3,261 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 14% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,835 per ton. From June 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Austria ($4,927 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($1,810 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Nonwoven Fabric Imports in Greece
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of nonwoven fabrics, when their volume decreased by -5.9% to 25K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year.
In value terms, nonwoven fabric imports fell to $97M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +12.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 24% against the previous year.

Nonwoven Fabric Exports in Greece
For the fourth year in a row, Greece recorded growth in overseas shipments of nonwoven fabrics, which increased by 2.5% to 27K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +18.0% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +64.4% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 41%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, nonwoven fabric exports rose modestly to $98M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +57.1% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 25%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
