Nonwoven Fabric Price in Chile (CIF) - 2023

In September 2023, the average nonwoven fabric import price amounted to $3,204 per ton, rising by 14% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $3,278 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,543 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($2,441 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Nonwoven Fabric Price in Chile (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average nonwoven fabric export price amounted to $5,773 per ton, increasing by 14% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, nonwoven fabric export price increased by +19.5% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 38%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $7,727 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Paraguay ($8,323 per ton), while the average price for exports to Brazil ($4,768 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Paraguay (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Nonwoven Fabric Imports in Chile

In 2022, overseas purchases of nonwoven fabrics decreased by -24.7% to 24K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, total imports indicated measured growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 31%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 32K tons, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

In value terms, nonwoven fabric imports declined to $90M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +28.2% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 45%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $102M, and then fell in the following year.

The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 40%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 2.1K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, nonwoven fabric exports totaled $11M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +12.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
