In 2022, the average manganese dioxide import price amounted to $5,368 per ton, picking up by 2.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average import price increased by 6.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $8,476 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +39.7% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $115, and then contracted in the following year.
