The average manganese dioxide import price stood at $5,343 per ton in 2022, falling by -2.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average import price increased by 122% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $13,129 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($10,505 per ton), while the price for India ($1,440 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (-1.9%).
Manganese Dioxide Imports in Ghana
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of manganese dioxides decreased by -33.9% to 1.5 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 234% against the previous year.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 244% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $13K, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.
