Mandarins Price in Peru (FOB) - 2022

The average mandarins export price stood at $1,029 per ton in 2022, surging by 2.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 4.5% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $1,350 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Poland ($1,347 per ton) and the United States ($1,105 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($907 per ton) and the UK ($933 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (-0.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average mandarins import price amounted to $2,394 per ton, growing by 2.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $2,458 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($2,474 per ton), while the price for Chile stood at $2,085 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+0.0%).

Mandarins Exports in Peru

In 2022, approx. 42K tons of fruit, edible were exported from Peru; approximately equating 2021 figures. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 26% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, mandarins exports stood at $44M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +8.6% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 32%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $45M.
