Liqueurs and Cordials Price in Ghana (CIF) - 2022
The average liqueurs and cordials import price stood at $2.1 per litre in December 2021, picking up by 8.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2021 an increase of 52% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $3.3 per litre in September 2021; however, from October 2021 to December 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($5.3 per litre), while the price for Spain ($521 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+16.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Liqueurs and Cordials Price in Ghana (FOB) - 2022
The average liqueurs and cordials export price stood at $4.5 per litre in 2022, increasing by 420% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep contraction. The export price peaked at $14 per litre in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($12 per litre), while the average price for exports to Benin ($0.7 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+11.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Liqueurs and Cordials Imports in Ghana
In 2022, purchases abroad of liqueurs and cordialses decreased by -16.5% to 2.2M litres for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +49.1% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 41% against the previous year. Imports peaked at 2.7M litres in 2021, and then dropped notably in the following year.
In value terms, liqueurs and cordials imports contracted to $6.7M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +14.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +50.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $7.9M, and then reduced in the following year.

Liqueurs and Cordials Exports in Ghana
In 2022, shipments abroad of liqueurs and cordialses was finally on the rise to reach 33K litres after two years of decline. In general, exports, however, saw a sharp shrinkage. The exports peaked at 605K litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, liqueurs and cordials exports soared to $151K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a precipitous slump. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $788K in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
