Linseed Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average linseed import price amounted to $477 per ton, flattening at the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 6% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $847 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($583 per ton), while the price for Russia ($410 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (-1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Linseed Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average linseed export price amounted to $784 per ton, with a decrease of -9.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 6.7% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $1,095 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,127 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($541 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (-0.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Linseed Imports in Poland
In 2022, the amount of linseed imported into Poland dropped significantly to 92K tons, with a decrease of -19.9% compared with the year before. In general, imports saw a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 3% against the previous year.
In value terms, linseed imports contracted remarkably to $75M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.2% over the last three years.
