Grape Price in the Dominican Republic (CIF) - 2023
In March 2023, the average grape import price amounted to $2,395 per ton, reducing by -10.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2022 when the average import price increased by 38% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $3,490 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to March 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,838 per ton), while the price for Peru ($2,288 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average grape export price amounted to $5,674 per ton, picking up by 99% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a mild expansion. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $10,313 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.

Grape Exports in the Dominican Republic
After three years of growth, shipments abroad of grapes decreased by -99.7% to 46 kg in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a precipitous descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 301%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 17 tons, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, grape exports contracted sharply to $261 in 2022. In general, exports recorded a sharp curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 164%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $50K, and then plummeted in the following year.
