Goat Meat Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
The average goat meat import price stood at $14,072 per ton in June 2023, surging by 27% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 35% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $18,865 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($17,179 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($11,026 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Goat Meat Price in Germany (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average goat meat export price amounted to $16,932 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a pronounced downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 29%. The export price peaked at $23,424 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Estonia ($41,736 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($6,285 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Somalia (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Goat Meat Imports in Germany
In 2022, approx. 131 tons of goat meat were imported into Germany; growing by 4.2% against the previous year. In general, imports, however, recorded a abrupt slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 28% against the previous year.
In value terms, goat meat imports skyrocketed to $1.5M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 36%.
