Glucose Price in Kuwait (CIF) - 2022
In December 2022, the average glucose import price amounted to $649 per ton, increasing by 14% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated temperate growth from December 2021 to December 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2022 figures, glucose import price increased by +13.9% against November 2022 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2022 when the average import price increased by 88% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $899 per ton in February 2022; however, from March 2022 to December 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was India ($899 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($540 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Glucose Price in Kuwait (FOB) - 2022
The average glucose export price stood at $732 per ton in 2022, increasing by 1.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, faced a precipitous curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 101%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $7,740 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the United Arab Emirates.
From 2013 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Saudi Arabia amounted to +159.9% per year.
Glucose Imports in Kuwait
In 2022, approx. 19K tons of glucose and glucose syrup were imported into Kuwait; picking up by 215% compared with 2021 figures. In general, imports recorded a significant increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
