The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, production increased by +39.6% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 58%. Over the period under review, global production reached the maximum volume in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Over the period under review, the total production indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, production increased by +8.9% against 2019 indices. Imports By Country
China represented the main importing country with an import of around 538B units, which recorded 42% of total imports. Hong Kong SAR (291B units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 23% share, followed by Singapore (12%). Taiwan (Chinese) (47B units), Malaysia (35B units), Mexico (34B units), South Korea (34B units) and Japan (26B units) took a little share of total imports.
