Eggplant Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
The average eggplant import price stood at $1,466 per ton in May 2023, increasing by 20% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 55% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,646 per ton. From March 2023 to May 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,557 per ton), while the price for Spain ($1,318 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Eggplant Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
The average eggplant export price stood at $1,490 per ton in June 2023, which is down by -3.9% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 an increase of 36% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,597 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,762 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($1,384 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Eggplant Imports in Poland
In 2022, the amount of eggplants (aubergines) imported into Poland expanded sharply to 5.2K tons, picking up by 13% compared with the year before. Eggplant Exports in Poland
For the third year in a row, Poland recorded decline in shipments abroad of eggplants (aubergines), which decreased by -9.7% to 2.1K tons in 2022. In general, exports saw a sharp downturn.
