Dry Bean Price in Uzbekistan (FOB) - 2023
The average dry bean export price stood at $1,676 per ton in May 2023, picking up by 32% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a remarkable increase from May 2022 to May 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.0% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on May 2023 figures, dry bean export price increased by +56.8% against March 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 an increase of 64% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in May 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Pakistan ($6,542 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($473 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Pakistan (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Dry Bean Price in Uzbekistan (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average dry bean import price amounted to $735 per ton, waning by -2.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 90% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2,584 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($1,256 per ton), while the price for Turkmenistan ($707 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+17.6%).
Dry Bean Exports in Uzbekistan
In 2022, approx. 268K tons of beans (dry) were exported from Uzbekistan; surging by 29% against 2021 figures. In general, total exports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +21.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +76.9% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, dry bean exports amounted to $228M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +11.0% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 13%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Dry Bean Imports in Uzbekistan
