Dry Bean Price in China (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average dry bean import price amounted to $833 per ton, growing by 4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2022 an increase of 8.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $985 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Ethiopia ($1,243 per ton), while the price for Myanmar ($720 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Dry Bean Price in China (FOB) - 2023
The average dry bean export price stood at $1,564 per ton in June 2023, waning by -9.9% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 6.9% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $2,129 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Canada ($2,310 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($996 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
