Dried Vegetables Price in Hungary (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average dried vegetables export price amounted to $7,507 per ton, almost unchanged from the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a pronounced expansion from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.1% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, dried vegetables export price decreased by -15.4% against April 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 38% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $8,872 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Iran ($35,104 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($3,803 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iran (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Dried Vegetables Price in Hungary (CIF) - 2023
The average dried vegetables import price stood at $6,177 per ton in June 2023, which is down by -23.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw tangible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 88% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $12,823 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($20,358 per ton), while the price for India ($886 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+8.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Dried Vegetables Exports in Hungary
In 2022, shipments abroad of dried vegetables and mixtures of vegetables decreased by -4.5% to 5.3K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 16%.
In value terms, dried vegetables exports expanded sharply to $29M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +11.8% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
