Dried Apricot Price in the UK (CIF) - 2023
In May 2023, the average dried apricot import price amounted to $5,763 per ton, declining by -7.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2022 an increase of 17% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,302 per ton. From September 2022 to May 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Turkey.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Turkey amounted to +0.2% per month.
Dried Apricot Price in the UK (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average dried apricot export price amounted to $2,276 per ton, waning by -50.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $6,824 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($8,528 per ton), while the average price for exports to Afghanistan ($1,642 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Dried Apricot Imports in the UK
In 2022, purchases abroad of dried apricots decreased by -0.6% to 7.3K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports saw a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 8.3% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 8.2K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
