Dried Apricot Price in China (CIF) - 2023
The average dried apricot import price stood at $2,816 per ton in June 2023, surging by 10% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 99% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,595 per ton. From April 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($4,821 per ton), while the price for Afghanistan amounted to $601 per ton.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+8.5%).
Dried Apricot Price in China (FOB) - 2022
The average dried apricot export price stood at $4,115 per ton in 2022, reducing by -1.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 62%. The export price peaked at $5,297 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($25,324 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($2,400 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kyrgyzstan (+74.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Dried Apricot Imports in China
In 2022, imports of dried apricots into China surged to 8.3K tons, with an increase of 42% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +84.5% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
