Dairy Spread Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2023
The average dairy spread export price stood at $6,778 per ton in May 2023, declining by -19.4% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 39% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $9,738 per ton. From November 2022 to May 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($7,799 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($6,572 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average dairy spread import price stood at $4,451 per ton in April 2023, remaining constant against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2022 an increase of 19% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,275 per ton. From September 2022 to April 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In April 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,179 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($4,481 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From April 2022 to April 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of dairy spreads, when their volume decreased by -30.9% to 1.2K tons. Overall, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 20% against the previous year.
