Cotton Lint Price in Egypt (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average cotton lint export price amounted to $2,634 per ton, with an increase of 43% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,228 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Vietnam ($2,634 per ton) and India ($2,634 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($2,634 per ton) and Turkey ($2,634 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
