Concrete Reinforcing Bar Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022

In January 2022, the average concrete reinforcing bar export price amounted to $742 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous month. Over the period from January 2021 to January 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2021 an increase of 13% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $786 per ton in November 2021; however, from December 2021 to January 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In January 2022, the countries with the highest prices were Slovakia ($888 per ton) and Ukraine ($851 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mongolia ($663 per ton) and Romania ($682 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Concrete Reinforcing Bar Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022

In January 2022, the average concrete reinforcing bar import price amounted to $653 per ton, waning by -5.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a slight increase from January 2021 to January 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on January 2022 figures, concrete reinforcing bar import price decreased by -13.5% against November 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2021 an increase of 18% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $801 per ton in July 2021; however, from August 2021 to January 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belarus ($2,002 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($646 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+10.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Concrete Reinforcing Bar Exports in Russia

In 2022, exports of concrete reinforcing bars from Russia rose sharply to 1.8M tons, picking up by 8.5% against 2021 figures. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 1.9M tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, concrete reinforcing bar exports contracted to $956M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +7.7% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 31%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $1.1B, and then reduced in the following year.
