The average coin import price stood at $878,639 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 6.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 122% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $1,105,545 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($2,205,433 per ton), while the price for China ($36,959 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+44.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Peru.

From 2012 to 2021, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Germany amounted to -31.4% per year.
