Citrus Fruit Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2022
The average citrus fruit import price stood at $991 per ton in 2022, picking up by 9.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 14%. The import price peaked at $1,089 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,277 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($674 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Citrus Fruit Price in Lithuania (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average citrus fruit export price amounted to $1,122 per ton, picking up by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $1,215 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Russia ($1,205 per ton) and Kazakhstan ($1,173 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($855 per ton) and Poland ($896 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Citrus Fruit Imports in Lithuania
In 2022, supplies from abroad of citrus fruits decreased by -13.2% to 58K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports saw a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 3.3% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 76K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, citrus fruit imports contracted to $58M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $68M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, exports showed a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 13% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 37K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, citrus fruit exports declined rapidly to $23M in 2022. In general, exports saw a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 28% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $34M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
