Chipped Coniferous Wood Price in Hungary (CIF) - 2023
The average chipped coniferous wood import price stood at $51.5 per cubic meter in June 2023, with an increase of 4.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a noticeable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 51% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $80.2 per cubic meter in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($124 per cubic meter), while the price for Austria ($40.6 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average chipped coniferous wood export price stood at $18 per cubic meter in 2022, jumping by 83% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 206%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $59 per cubic meter. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($19 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($4.1 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
