Chicken Egg Price in Oman (CIF) - 2022
The average chicken egg import price stood at $11,857 per ton in December 2022, increasing by 25% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a slight decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 an increase of 35% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $13,497 per ton in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to December 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was India ($20,904 per ton), while the price for Bahrain ($4,766 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+9.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chicken Egg Price in Oman (FOB) - 2022
The average chicken egg export price stood at $2,804 per ton in December 2022, reducing by -9.7% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2022 to December 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 an increase of 12% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $3,121 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to December 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($4,666 per ton), while the average price for exports to Qatar ($1,604 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Chicken Egg Imports in Oman
In 2022, the amount of chicken eggs imported into Oman soared to 36K tons, increasing by 30% against 2021 figures. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
