Cauliflower and Broccoli Price in Sweden (CIF) - 2023
The average cauliflower and broccoli import price stood at $2,338 per ton in May 2023, picking up by 9.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price posted a pronounced increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 88% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $4,149 per ton. From September 2022 to May 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($4,252 per ton), while the price for Denmark ($1,181 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cauliflower and Broccoli Price in Sweden (FOB) - 2022
The average cauliflower and broccoli export price stood at $2,685 per ton in 2022, picking up by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, cauliflower and broccoli export price increased by +59.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 25% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($5,573 per ton), while the average price for exports to Finland ($1,612 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+23.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cauliflower and Broccoli Imports in Sweden
In 2022, supplies from abroad of cauliflower and broccoli increased by 3.4% to 11K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a perceptible decrease.
In value terms, cauliflower and broccoli imports reduced slightly to $18M in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 0.4%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $18M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
