Carrot and Turnip Price in Hungary (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average carrot and turnip import price amounted to $1,121 per ton, leveling off at the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 73% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,161 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Austria ($1,736 per ton), while the price for Slovakia ($693 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by North Macedonia (+19.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Carrot and Turnip Price in Hungary (FOB) - 2023
In May 2023, the average carrot and turnip export price amounted to $1,027 per ton, picking up by 16% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2022 an increase of 25% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure in May 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($1,779 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($999 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+9.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
